Passover Seder

The Passover Seder is a special event in the Jewish calendar when families come together to share a meal, a set of prayers, and stories.  It is an opportunity to celebrate and honor our faith, discuss current social justice issues, and pass on the traditions of our ancestors.

The Seder is usually held on the first or second night of Passover and is guided by the Haggadah, the central book for the ceremony.  The order of the Seder is fixed, beginning with the Kiddush, a blessing over the wine.  After that, participants will eat a traditional meal of matzah and bitter herbs, followed by telling the story of the Exodus from Egypt.

During the Seder, we will also drink four cups of wine, each with its special blessing.  We will then sing traditional songs like Dayenu and discuss current social justice issues.  Finally, we will close the Seder with a prayer for peace.

The Passover Seder is a powerful and meaningful way for families to celebrate their faith and heritage.  It is a time when families come together to share stories and blessings, reflect on the struggles of our ancestors, and commit to making a better future.  It is an opportunity to celebrate our faith meaningfully and powerfully.

Celebrate Life’s Moments

We Gather for Special Events

We seek to create meaningful opportunities for fellowship, unity, and affirmation of shared values thru the celebration of God’s Feast Days and Appointed Times.  Our goal is community-wide participation and engagement for the glory of God and to expand His Kingdom.

Chanukkah

Celebrate the miracle of Chanukkah with an eight-day Festival of Lights!  This special Jewish holiday commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and the miracle of the eight days of oil that kept the temple’s menorah burning.  Enjoy delicious fried foods, play games with a dreidel, and exchange gifts with loved ones to make this one holiday that will always be remembered!

Tabernacles

The observance of Tabernacles is an ancient Jewish tradition that celebrates the harvest, thanksgiving, and God’s provision.  During this week-long festival, families come together to rejoice, feast, and offer sacrifices.  It is a time to express gratitude for all that God has done, remember one’s place in the world, and enjoy the harvest season’s blessings.

Again, I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery?  Not at all!  Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.  But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
