Shalom, dear friends and family:
As Summer arrives with increased temperatures., humidity, and longer days, tensions in many parts of the Middle East, including Israel, are also rising. Perhaps in response to the worldwide 21 days of fasting and prayer for Israel or responses to increased rhetoric by the enemies of Israel, violent attacks against our Jewish people are also on the rise in Israel and around the world. Anti-semitic acts are increasing everywhere, and we mourn the lives taken by senseless terrorism this past month, particularly in the areas of Judea and Samaria. Tensions there between Jewish ‘settlers’ and the Arab population seem to be at an all-time high, with almost daily acts of violence and retaliation. Only the Lord can stop this escalating cycle; our role is to pray and stand with Israel, imperfect as she is. Please continue to pray for our homeland as the world more and more turns against her.
We want to wish all of our American friends a very Happy 4th of July. May your celebrations be filled with patriotism, good food, laughter, family and friends, and of course, the Lord God of Israel.
EXCITING TIMES IN ISRAEL
In the past few weeks, we’ve seen greater numbers of salvations in the communities of the King of Kings network. Russian and Ukranian refugees from the war in Ukraine have come to faith in the Modi’in area under our ministry, as well as many children at a summer camp experience that King of Kings sponsored. There are reports of nearly 200 Arabic speakers finding the Messiah in recent King of Kings outreaches. Please continue to pray for these new Believers, and that these ‘seeds’ will reproduce and greater numbers come into the Kingdom, until ‘all Israel’ says “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord.”
All Israel News reported the following:
Protest turns violent at a Messianic worship concert in Jerusalem as far-right anti-Christian activists attempt to stop the event. The “Peh Echad” or “One Voice” worship concert was organized by the Messianic Jewish Alliance of Israel (MJAI) and was not intended as an evangelistic outreach event. The video can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d41eAQ0hXlc
Dozens of far-right ultra-Orthodox Jews began to riot at the site of a local Christian worship event in Jerusalem on Thursday afternoon to protest the event. One suspect, an activist with the far-right organization Lehava, was arrested for attacking a police officer during clashes with the Israel Police.
A crowd of mostly-young protestors had begun to form at the entrance to the Pavilion, a popular venue in central Jerusalem, prior to the concert. The demonstration was organized in an effort to disrupt and stop the event from taking place, which resulted in attendees being harassed with various intimidation tactics, including shouting, whistling and blowing toy trumpets in the ears of the concert attendees as they made their way into the venue.
Eventually, the concert-goers – both local Israeli believers and international Christian tourists – had to be personally escorted by police to the entrance, while protesters did their best to physically block attendees from entering the building.
The group of protesters was reportedly mainly comprised of two far-right Jewish organizations, Lehava (Hebrew for “flame”) and La Familia, both of which are well-known for inciting violence.
Activists from Or L’Achim, an organization that attempts to counter Christian proselytization in Israel, were also reported as trying to block participants from attending the concert, as well as making attempts to break into the main hall.
Once inside the Pavilion, the worship concert took place, with an estimated 1,000 participants. When the concert ended, attendees were greeted by older members of the ultra-Orthodox movement, who attempted to hand out their pamphlets.
The Pavilion, which is owned by King of Kings Ministries, is a popular venue for many events in Jerusalem.
CULMINATION OF ISAIAH 62 FAST leads to PROTESTS AT THE TEMPLE MOUNT
A prayer event near the Western Wall at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem became the site of protests on June 25th.
The Isaiah 62 Fast prayer event, which engaged different Messianic & Christian groups from around the world, took place on the southern steps of the Temple Mount. According to the Western Christian calendar, June 25th was the day of Pentecost. Realistic estimates indicate over 100,000,000 people around the world joined in the 21 days of fasting and prayer for Israel.
The large gathering of Believers also attracted at least two groups of religious Jewish protesters.
One group of demonstrators faced the prayer event and used a loudspeaker to project ritual prayers and chants.
“Missionaries go home!” the group chanted, and at least one Messianic attendee was injured by their violence.
note the umbrellas and rain on the Haredi’s hat – very unusual for rain in Jerusalem in May – some interpreted it as a ‘sign’ from the Lord in response to the 21 days of fasting and prayer.
