This past week in Israel has been a rollercoaster of emotions. We had two memorial days, one for the Holocaust (Yom HaShoah), followed by one for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism (Yom HaZikaron).
Hours before Yom HaZikaron even began this year, and there was a terror attack next to our Jerusalem offices near the Mahane Yehuda market. We thank God that everyone we know was counted safe, but seven people were injured in the attack.
It was a very real reminder of the price our Jewish people have paid, and continue to pay, for our home.
At the end of Yom HaZikaron, we went straight into celebrating Israel’s 75th Birthday! It is a jarring but powerful experience, transitioning so quickly from mourning to celebration. As Israel celebrates 75 years as a modern democracy in the Middle East, we should remember God’s promises to all of us that He is in control.
In January, one of our King of Kings Arabic pastors and a team from Jerusalem had an outreach specifically directed to Arabic speakers and those from a Muslim background. 110 people gave their hearts to Yeshua through this outreach. Last week at another outreach to Arabic speakers who were primarily from a Catholic background, 21 people gave their hearts to the Lord. What amazing fruit!
Our Planting Pastor in the town of Modi’in has reported that since January, 13 people from backgrounds have given their hearts to Yeshua – secular Jews, Russian Jews, and holocaust survivors.
A King of Kings Arabic pastor living and working near Bethlehem also reported some new believers coming to faith, as has one of our Ethiopian pastors.
These salvations, and others all over Israel, will never make the nightly news or headlines on the Internet, but Scripture says that the angels in heaven are rejoicing, as should we.
This is good fruit from our ministry in Israel.
There are 9.7 million people currently living in the Jewish state, according to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, which released fresh data ahead of the nation’s 75th anniversary.
Israel’s population has increased by 12 times since the modern state was established in May 1948.
Some 7.15 million Jews live in Israel, constituting 73.5% of the total population. Approximately 46%, or almost half of World Jewry, currently live in the Jewish state. By contrast, only 5% of the world’s Jews resided in Israel when the state was founded in 1948. Jewish demographers expect that within the next decade, the majority of Jewish people will live in Israel for the first time in the post-biblical era.
Some 2 million citizens belong to the Arab minority, which constitutes approximately one-fifth of Israel’s population. The remaining 5% of the population are other minorities and immigrants from the former Soviet republics who are not formally defined as Jewish.
Israel stands out among the advanced economies with a young and rapidly growing population. A whopping 28% of the Israeli population are children aged 14 or below. During the past year, the Israeli population grew by 216.000 people. This represents a growth rate of 2.3%, by far the highest in the developed world. While most of the growth rate was natural, Israel also welcomed 79.000 new immigrants in the past year. The majority arrived from war-torn Ukraine & Russia.
The Jewish state has welcomed 3.3 million immigrants since its rebirth in 1948. Out of these, some 1.5 million arrived since 1990, mostly from the former Soviet republics. Israel’s population is expected to reach 15 million in 2048 when the country marks its centennial anniversary.
Join us and over 1 million believers who will engage in prayer for Israel for at least one hour a day for 21 days (May 7-28) for the increase of God’s salvation promises and plans for Jerusalem and Israel. Some will pray alone, and others will pray with 2 or more (Mt. 18:20)—virtually or in-person—in their home, office, dorm, or at their church, etc.
This prayer event will conclude on the Lord’s Feast Day of Shavuot (Pentecost), 28 May 2023. Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the giving of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem, recorded in Acts Chapter 2.
A collaboration of several thousand ministries—including Lou Engle, Jason Hubbard, King of Kings Ministries & Mike Bickle—are calling 1 million believers to participate in a global solemn assembly (May 7-28) to fast in various ways and to pray for the Lord’s purposes for Israel AND to ask Him to raise up 100 million intercessors for Israel according to His promise in Isaiah 62:6 to sovereignly “set,” “appoint,” or “mark” intercessors who will remind the Lord of His promises for Jerusalem until Jesus returns. Isaiah 62:6 is an end-time promise that is now escalating across the earth.
6On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed [set, KJV] watchmen; all day and all night, they will never keep silent. You [intercessors] who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; 7 And give Him no rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth [at Jesus’ return]. (Isa. 62:6-7, NAS)
Believers hold various eschatological positions. The Isaiah 62 website, referenced below, does not address any eschatological position. It invites believers of all positions to pray 21 days for Jerusalem and Israel.

Israel’s national repentance (Act 3:19) and confession that Jesus is Messiah (Mt. 23:39) is deeply connected to Jesus’ second coming, the Great Commission, and “life from the dead” for the whole earth (Rom. 11:15).
This will be the first time in history that far more than 1 million will continue 24 hours a day for 21 days in praying for God’s promises for Israel. The uniqueness of this prayer initiative is itself a sign of the times and an acceleration of God’s “set time for a generation yet to be created” to engage together in His purposes for Israel (Ps. 102:13, 18).
13You will…have mercy on Zion [Jerusalem]; the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come… 18 This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. (Ps. 102:13-18)
A group of Israeli teenagers were competing in an international competition in robotics in Houston, Texas. Their team consisted of students from the Amit High School in Modi’in. They had succeeded in reaching the final stage of the competition, which was held on Shabbat.
They wrote a letter in which they explained that they observed Shabbat and were not willing to compromise their values for the sake of the competition. In their otherwise empty booth, they had left Shabbat candles, challah, a Kiddush cup, and an Israeli flag, together with a short explanation of what Shabbat is all about.
The announcer at the competition read their letter in front of all the other competitors and then something surprising happened. Students from all over the world stood up and applauded. The announcer then spoke these words: “Thank you for the reminder that there are other things outside the world of robotics that are also important.”
This year’s Passover Seder was a great success and a joyful evening. Nearly 250 friends and family joined us from as far away as Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Louisiana. Many local pastors were there with their families, and a spirit of unity and worship pervaded the beautifully decorated room. Our hosts at First Baptist Church, McComb, MS, provided all the elements, and a spectacular meal, served with excellence and efficiency. All in all, a wonderful evening, and Yeshua was glorified.
- Join us for the 21 days of prayer for Israel, May 7 to 28.
- Continue to pray for Judicial reforms in Israel.
- Continue to pray for Israel’s borders to be secure.
- Pray that more Israelis and our Arab cousins will receive Yeshua.
